Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair

Exhaust manifold bolt location

Removal

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Raise vehicle and support with safety stands.
3. Remove EPR valve.
4. Remove engine cooler line clip and bracket.
5. Remove exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold.
6. Remove exhaust manifold bolts.
7. Remove exhaust manifold from under vehicle.
8. Clean all mating surfaces and exhaust manifold bolt threads.

Installation

1. Install exhaust manifold from under vehicle.
2. Install exhaust manifold bolts.
3. Attach exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold.
4. Lower vehicle.
5. Attach oil cooler line and bracket.
6. Install EPR valve.
7. Reconnect negative battery cable.
