Extension Housing: Service and Repair
Rear Extension Oil Seal
Removal Procedure
1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement (Front Drive).
3. Remove the rear extension oil seal.
Installation Procedure

J 21426 Rear Extension Seal Installer
1. Install the new seal using J 21426.
2. Install the propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement (Front Drive).
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Check the transmission fluid level. Refer to Fluid Capacity.
Use Dexron III Automatic Transmission Fluid.
