Wheel Stud Replacement (Semi-Floating Axle)
Tools Required

J 6627-A Wheel Stud Remover
Removal Procedure
1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle with suitable safety stands allowing the axle to hang free. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Single Front or Rear Wheels) or Tire and Wheel
Removal and Installation (Dual Rear Wheels).
3. Remove the brake drum. Refer to Brake Drum Replacement.
4. Use the J 6627-A in order to remove the stud from the axle flange.
Installation Procedure
1. Start the new stud into the axle flange hole by pressing firmly with your hand.
2. Thread the lug nut on the stud with the flat side of the lug nut to the vehicle.
3. Tighten the lug nut in order to draw the stud into the rear of the flange.
4. Thread the lug nut off the stud.
5. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Single Front or Rear Wheels) or Tire and Wheel Removal
and Installation (Dual Rear Wheels).
6. Install the brake drum. Refer to Brake Drum Replacement.
7. Lower the vehicle.
