Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT 

1.  Battery ground cable.

^  Discharge the system.

2.  The accumulator.
3.  Liquid line retaining screw.
4.  Liquid (orifice tube) line from evaporator, and orifice tube.

CAUTION: Cap or plug all open lines.

5.  Eight bolts holding the evaporator case together (two in the bulkhead), and separate the case.
6.  Evaporator core.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1.  New core.
2.  Eight bolts that hold the case together and to the bulkhead.
3.  Orifice tube.
4.  Liquid (orifice tube) line to evaporator.
5.  Liquid line support screw.
6.  Accumulator.

^  Add 88.7 ml (3 ounces) of clean refrigerant oil.

7.  Battery cable.

^  Evacuate charge and check the system.
