S15/T15 2WD Jimmy L4-151 2.5L (1985)
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Disconnect power steering pump reservoir from upper fan shroud, secure reservoir aside and remove upper shroud.
3.
Remove dipstick.
4.
Raise and support vehicle and drain oil pan.
5.
Disconnect brake line clips from crossmember and remove crossmember.
6.
Disconnect cooler lines from transmission, if equipped, then plug lines and open fittings.
7.
Disconnect exhaust pipe from manifold.
8.
Disconnect catalytic converter hanger, removing one bolt and loosening the other.
9.
Remove flywheel cover and driveshaft splash shield.
10.
Mark position of idler arm for installation, then remove idler arm retaining bolts.
11.
Remove steering gear retaining bolts, then pull gear and linkage forward.
12.
Remove differential housing bolts at bracket on right side and at frame on left side, then move housing forward.
13.
Remove starter motor bolts, position starter aside and loosen brace.
14.
Disconnect front propeller shaft at drive pinion.
15.
Remove motor mount through bolts and oil pan retaining bolts.
16.
Raise engine to provide clearance, then remove oil pan.
17.
Clean pan and block sealing surfaces, ensuring that sealer is removed from pan bolt holes.
18.
Apply continuous bead of RTV sealer, 3/16 inch wide, to entire sealing surface of pan on on 1985 models, or sealant as indicated in Fig. 10 on
1986-87 models.
19.
Raise engine, position pan on block and secure with bolts, then lower engine.
20.
Install remaining pan bolts and torque to 75 inch lbs. on 1985 models, or 90 inch lbs. on 1986-87 models, then reverse remaining procedure to
complete installation.
