Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair
1.
Remove drive belts.
2.
Remove center bolt, then slide hub and pulleys off crankshaft.
3.
Carefully pry seal from front cover, taking care not to damage or distort cover.
4.
Install seal with helical lip toward rear of engine, using tool No. J-23042 or equivalent on 1985 models, or tool No. J-34995 on 1986-87 models to
seat seal in cover.
5.
Coat seal lip with clean engine oil, then reverse remaining procedure to complete installation.
