WHAT WE WILL DO
To correct this condition, the calibrator (PROM) in your vehicles Electronic Control Module (ECM) will be replaced with a new PROM. Additionally,
certain carburetor components (primary and secondary vacuum breaks) will be inspected, and if required, replaced. This service will be completed for
you at no charge.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
Please contact your GMC Truck dealer to arrange a service date. Instructions for making this correction have been sent to your GMC Truck dealer. The
labor time necessary to perform this service/inspection is approximately 55 minutes. If the vacuum breaks require replacement an additional 20 to 30
minutes will be required to service your vehicle. In either case, please allow some additional time for your dealer to process your vehicle.
Should your dealer not schedule a service date within a reasonable time, you should contact your GMC Truck Zone Office by telephone for assistance.
