Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair

Fig. 229 BPMV Mounting.

The BPMV is not serviceable and must be replaced as a unit.

1. Disconnect brake pipes, then the electrical connectors from BPMV.
  
2. Remove BPMV mounting bolts and nuts, Fig. 229.
      
3. Remove BPMV and mounting bracket.

4. Remove mounting bracket attaching bolts.

5. Separate BPMV from mounting bracket.

6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. Torque mounting bracket to BPMV bolts to 7 ft. lbs.

Overtightening these bolts could result in excessive noise transfer from the BPMV.

b. Torque mounting bracket to inner fender bolts and nuts to 18 ft. lbs.
c. Torque brake pipe fittings to 21 ft. lbs.
