Oil Level Sensor: Service and Repair

Engine Oil Level Sensor and/or Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the lower oil pan. Refer to Lower Oil Pan Replacement  (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Engine Lubrication/Oil Pan/Service

and Repair/Lower Oil Pan Replacement) .

2. Remove the oil level sensor clip (3).
3. Remove the oil level sensor bolt (2) and sensor (1).

Installation Procedure

Important:  When routing the oil level sensor wire, ensure that the wire is routed along the side of the oil pan.

1. Install the oil level sensor (1) and bolt (2).

Tighten the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

2. Install the oil level sensor clip (3).
3. Install the lower oil pan. Refer to Lower Oil Pan Replacement  (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Engine Lubrication/Oil Pan/Service and

Repair/Lower Oil Pan Replacement) .
