Engine Flywheel Housing Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac-N-Fill)   (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Service

and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill)   (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Service and Repair) .

2. Remove the crankshaft rear oil seal. Refer to Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Replacement   (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Seals and

Gaskets/Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal/Service and Repair) .

3. Remove the turbocharger oil return pipe nuts from the top of the flywheel housing.
4. Remove the oil cooler adapter studs and nuts from the flywheel housing.

5. Remove the upper oil pan. Refer to Upper Oil Pan Replacement   (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Engine Lubrication/Oil Pan/Service

and Repair) .

6. Remove the oil filter.
