Canister Vent Valve: Service and Repair
EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) CANISTER VENT SOLENOID VALVE REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Clean all evaporative emission (EVAP) line connections and surrounding areas prior to disconnecting, in order to avoid possible
EVAP system contamination.
1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Disconnect the EVAP canister vent solenoid (CVS) electrical connector (1).
3. Disconnect the CVS quick connect fittings at the canister.
4. Disengage the retaining tab on the CVS bracket (2).
5. Remove the CVS and line.
6. If necessary, disconnect and remove the CVS line.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. If necessary, install and connect the CVS line.
2. Install the CVS and line.
3. Engage the retaining tab on the CVS bracket (2).
4. Connect the CVS quick connect fittings at the canister.
5. Connect the EVAP canister vent solenoid (CVS) electrical connector (1).
6. Lower the vehicle.
