Wind Noise From Door Window Sill
PROBLEM
Wind noise from the door window sill while driving with the windows fully up.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The force of the glass closing against the top of the window frame bows the window sill slightly, creating a poor seal between the glass and the inside
weatherstrip.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Bend the door frame out slightly along the window sill so the weatherstrip will maintain full contact with the glass.
1.
Roll the window all the way down.
2.
Remove the door trim panel..
Window Sill Adjustment
3.
Hold the door at both ends and, using some form of knee protection, gently push your knee against the depressions in the frame indicated by the
arrows. Push at one depression and then the other until the middle section of the window sill is 3 or 4 mm closer to the outside door skin.
4.
Reinstall the door trim panel. After assembly, check the operation of the window. It should not drag on the sill area of the trim panel.
