Heater Control Panel: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation
Button Type
1. Remove the fan switch and temperature control knobs, and the heater control panel.
2. Remove the gauge visor
3. Remove the center outlet.
4. Remove the screws (4).
5. Disconnect the switch wires, and remove the control switches.
6. Remove the radio and Air Mix Lever if necessary.
Lever Type
1. Remove fan switch and control lever knobs, then pry heater control cover panel out, using a screwdriver.
2. Remove radio as follows:
a. Remove ashtray and ashtray holder.
b. Remove 2 screws from under center of instrument panel, then push radio assembly out of dash from behind.
c. Disconnect electrical connector and antenna lead, then remove radio assembly.
3. Remove 6 screws securing control panel.
4. Disconnect air mix and function cables from heater housing.
5. Disconnect electrical connectors, then remove control assembly.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
