7. With the headlights and rear defroster on, and the heater blower to maximum, adjust the idle speed by turning adjusting screw A. Idle speed should
be: 550-650 rpm.
8. If equipped with the air conditioner, adjust the idle speed by turning adjusting screw B to 650-750 rpm with A/C on.
9. With no engine load, remove the inside vacuum hose from the idle boost throttle controller and plug the hose.
10. Adjust the idle speed by turning the throttle stop screw to 650-750 rpm (600-700 rpm at high altitude).
NOTE: Raise the engine speed to 2,500 rpm 2 or 3 times in 10 seconds, and then check the idle speed. Idle speed should be: 650-750 rpm.
11. Re-check the idle speed with the headlights, heater blower and rear window defroster on. Idle speed should be: 650-750 rpm. If the idle speed is
not as specified, return to steps 4 through 10.
12. Re-check the idle speed with the A/T shift lever in gear. Idle speed should be: 650-750 rpm.
13. Re-check the idle speed with the A/C on and with the shift lever in "P" or "N" position. Idle speed should be: 700-800 rpm.
14. Re-check the idle speed with the A/C on and in gear. Idle speed should be: 700-800 rpm.
15. If the idle rpm does not reach the specified idle speeds, inspect the fuel mixture and idle control system.
