Hesitation When Cold
PROBLEM
Before reaching normal operating temperature, the engine hesitates under light acceleration between 1,000-1,500 rpm.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Install the Ignition Coil Kit listed under PARTS INFORMATION.
1.
Unplug the ignition coil connectors, then remove the coil and its mounting bracket.
2.
Connect the new ignition sub-cord to the coil and bracket.
3.
Mount the coil/bracket on the right shock tower. Relocate the radio noise condenser to the under-hood relay box mounting bolt.
NOTE:
Make sure your hands and tools are free of grease, oil, and silicone lubricants before performing steps 4 through 13.
4.
Cut the original ignition coil connector off of the BLU and BLK/YEL wires from the main wire harness.
5.
Insert the BLU and BLK/YEL wires through the large round connector seal from the # 250 connector, then strip 5 mm of insulation from the
wires.
