5. Test the regulator in numbered sequence. Replace the regulator if your test results don't match the chart below:

Turn SW1 ON and SW2 OFF.

Turn SW1 and SW2 ON.

Turn SW1 and SW2 ON, and slowly raise the voltage to 14.5 (+/- 0.6) Volts. L2 should go OFF between 13.9 V and 15.1 V.

Raise the voltage to 16.5 (+/- 1) Volts.

Lower the voltage to 12 V and disconnect the wire from terminals.
NOTE: If the test sequence is incorrect, the regulator will not operate correctly. If you make a mistake, disconnect the D.C. power source and
begin again at step 3.
Continuity Check.
6. Check continuity:

Check the diode for continuity in both directions between the B and F terminals.
^
The diode is good if there is continuity in only one direction.
