Ball Joint: Service and Repair
Lower Ball Joint
Removal
1. Remove the steering knuckle.
2. Pry off the snap ring and remove the dust boot.
3. Remove the 40mm circlip.
Remove Ball Joint
4. Install SST #07965-SB00100, or equivalent, on the ball joint and tighten the ball joint mount nut.
5. Position SST #07965-SB00300, or equivalent, over the bottom of the ball joint and set the assembly in a vise.
6. Press the ball joint out of the knuckle.
Installation
1. Place the ball joint into the steering knuckle by hand.
Install Ball Joint
2. Install SST #07965-SB00100 and 07965-SB00200, or equivalent, into position as shown and press the ball joint in.
3. Install the 40mm circlip.
