Suspension Strut / Shock Absorber: Service and Repair
Rear Strut
1.
Remove damper upper cover at rear seat lining.
2.
Raise and support rear of vehicle.
3.
Remove stabilizer bar from lower control arm.
4.
Remove 2 upper base mounting nuts.
5.
Remove lower damper assembly.
6.
Lower suspension arms and remove damper mounting bolt.
7.
Reverse procedure to install. Install mounting bolts hand tight, load suspension with weight of vehicle, then torque lower mounting bolt to 40 ft.
lbs. and upper base nuts to 28 ft. lbs.
