The fastener extractor only works in the counterclockwise direction (to remove normal, right-hand thread bolts).

The Torx bolts are installed with a thread lock material. Using a T-30 bit may strip the Torx interface.

Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the accessory position, unlock the steering wheel, and rotate the wheel 180 degrees. Remove the key,
lock the wheel, and repeat step 5 for the other airbag bolt.*
7.
Disconnect the horn switch 1P connector, and remove the airbag.
8.
Place a clean shop towel on the workbench, and lay the airbag face down on the towel.
