ABS Light: Testing and Inspection
1.
If the anti-lock warning light does not come on with ignition switch turned on, check the following items:
a. Blown anti-lock warning bulb.
b. Open circuit in YEL lead between No. 1 fuse and gauge assembly.
c. Open circuit in BLU/RED lead between gauge assembly and control unit.
d. Bad ground connection of control unit to body.

If no problems are found, install a known-good control unit and recheck above items.

If the anti-lock warning light remains on and no trouble codes exist, check the following:
a. Loose or poor connection of wire harness at control unit.
b. Blown anti-lock brake fuse.
c. Open circuit in WHT lead between anti-lock brake fuse and control unit.
d. Open circuit in YEL/BLK lead between fuse No. 8 and fail safe relays.
e. Open or short circuit in YEL/GRN lead between control units.
f.
Short circuit in BLU/RED lead between gauge assembly and control unit.
g. Open circuit in WHT/BLU lead between alternator and control unit.

If no problems are found, install a known-good control unit and recheck warning light operation.
