Product Update: Accord Driver's Multiplex Control Unit
BACKGROUND
The delay interval will not adjust with the INT TIME ring when the windshield wipers are operating in intermittent mode. The interval is fixed at about 4
seconds. This is controlled by the multiplex control system.
There are three multiplex control units in the vehicle, made by two manufacturers. For the multiplex control system to operate properly, all three units
must be made by the same manufacturer. In the affected vehicles, the passenger's multiplex control unit and the door multiplex control unit are made by
the same manufacturer, but the driver's multiplex control unit is made by a different manufacturer. This causes the problem with the windshield wiper
delay interval.
CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION
All owners of affected vehicles will be sent a notification of this campaign. An example of the customer notification is shown in this service bulletin.
Not every vehicle in the listed VIN range is affected by this campaign. Before starting work, verify that the vehicle is eligible:
