Dashboard Buzz Above 4000 RPM

SYMPTOM
A buzzing, rattling, or knocking noise above 4000 rpm that seems to come from the dashboard or instrument cluster. This noise can sometimes be heard
only inside the car. This should not be confused with lower end noise, which is more evident between idle and 1500 rpm.

PROBABLE CAUSE

The side engine mount is defective.

All 1992-93 VX
All 1992 EX 4-door with automatic transmission 
All 1993 EX and Si

DIAGNOSIS

1.

Support the engine with a floor jack padded with a wooden block.

2.

Disconnect the 4-P connector from the cruise control actuator.

3.

Remove the cruise control actuator and set it to one side.

4.

Remove the power steering reservoir and set it to one side.

5.

Remove the two mounting nuts and mounting bolt. Remove the side engine mount.
