Cup Holder Opens by Itself

SYMPTOM

The cup holder opens by itself when driving over rough roads.

PROBABLE CAUSE

Inadequate latch engagement.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Correct the position of the latch by inserting a 2 mm spacer.

1.

Open the cup holder.

2.

Push the latch to the closed position.

3.

Spread the cup holder edge away from the cup holder base with a screwdriver.

4.

Insert the rubber spacer between the cup holder edge and base.

5.

Push on the latch so it releases to the open position.

6.

Check the cup holder operation.
