Rear Seat-back Won't Unlatch

SYMPTOM

The rear seat-back cannot be unlatched with the key or by pulling the loop in the trunk.

PROBABLE CAUSE

The release lever on the latch assembly is bent.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the rear seat latch assembly with the new assembly listed under PARTS INFORMATION.

1.

Unlatch the rear seat-back and tilt it forward. The release lever on the latch may be bent downward, preventing the seat from unlatching. If so,
push the lever upward while releasing the seat-back.

2.

Remove the trim panel on the front of the rear shelf by squeezing the clips with a pair of pliers.
