EGR Valve Lift Sensor: Description and Operation
Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) System
The EGR Valve Lift Sensor, located on top of the EGR valve itself, is a linear potentiometer type of sensor. This signal is used by the ECU to
determine the amount of EGR valve lift, which is then compared to a table of ideal valve lift based on the current operating conditions. The ECU uses
this information to vary actual valve lift to match the ideal valve lift for all operating conditions.
