Fuel Pressure Regulator: Description and Operation
Fuel Pressure Regulator
The Fuel Pressure Regulator, mounted on the side of the throttle body, maintains constant fuel pressure for the fuel injectors. The Fuel Pressure
Regulator monitors the intake manifold pressure (manifold vacuum), as long as the difference between manifold pressure and fuel system pressure
is less than 36 psi (2.55 kg/cm2) the valve remains closed. When the difference exceeds 36 psi (2.55 kg/cm2), the valve opens and the excess fuel
is fed through the fuel return line back into the fuel tank.
