If necessary, adjust the push rod to get the clearance specified for that car.

On 73-79 Civics and 76-81 Accords, take the push rod out of the booster, then loosen its locknut and shorten or lengthen it as necessary.

On 79-82 Preludes and 80-83 Civics, adjust the push rod in (turn the adjusting nut counter-clockwise) to decrease the clearance, and out to
increase it.

On 82/83 Accords and 83 Prelude, because you're checking the adjustment indirectly, do the opposite: Adjust the push rod out to decrease the
clearance, and in to in crease it.
CAUTION: Stay within the specification! Although you'll have to allow some clearance to be sure the output rod and the gauge bolt are
touching, don't exceed the 0.4 mm maximum, or you will actually decrease the output rod-to-piston in stalled clearance, and
cause premature brake wear.
