Intake Manifold Vacuum Damper: Testing and Inspection

On Civic models, remove control box No. 2 cover.

On all models, disconnect hose between constant vacuum valve and frequency solenoid valve B, then connect vacuum gauge to hose.
3.
Start engine, then check for vacuum at idle. Vacuum should stabilize at 3.9-7.9 inches Hg for Accord and Prelude, 6-11 inches Hg for Civic with
manual transaxle and 2-7 inches Hg for Civic with automatic transaxle.

If vacuum stabilizes within above range, valve is satisfactory. If vacuum does not stabilize within above range, replace vacuum valve and repeat
test.
