5. Remove the bolt securing the tailgate handle, and remove the spacer (A).
6. Remove the outer handle (A) while pulling it as shown.
7. Install the tailgate handle in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

Make sure each rod is connected securely.

Make sure the tailgate locks and opens properly.

Install the lock cylinder retaining clip on the handle, then install the lock cylinder. Be sure the clip is fully seated in the slot on the lock
cylinder.
