Safety Recall: 1999-99 CR-V Main Wire Harness
BACKGROUND
The routing of the main wire harness may allow some wires in the harness to rub against the brake light switch. Eventually, the insulation on one of the
wires may be damaged, which can cause a fuse to blow. A blown fuse may result in the loss of operation of any of these components: the windshield
wipers, the headlights, the taillights, the turn signals, the hazard lights, the ABS system, and the ELD (electrical load detector).
CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION
Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by mail. An example of the customer letter is shown at the end of this service bulletin.
