Mainshaft
Inspection
1. Measure gear and bearing O.D.s.
2. Inspect for runout.
3. Replace the mainshaft if any readings are out of tolerance.
Clearance Inspection
1. Assemble the bearings, synchro hub, synchro sleeve, gears, spacer collar, etc. on the mainshaft as shown below.
