Parking Brake Warning Switch: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION OF PARKING BRAKE SWITCH CIRCUIT

1. Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.
2. Connect the harness side connector to ground.
3. Turn the starter switch ON and check that the bulb lights.

If the bulb does not light, inspect the bulb or cable harness between meter and the switch.

Individual inspection of parking brake switch

1. Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.
2. Check for continuity between the switch terminal and body ground.
