a. Hold a round bar against the shift rod end lower face to protect it against damage.
b. Install a new roll pin. Never reinstall the used roll pin. 

4. 3rd-4th shift rod.(8)
5. Interlock pin:(11)

a. Install the interlock pin to the shift rod.
b. Install the shift rod together with the interlock pin to the intermediate plate. Do not allow the interlock pin to fall from the shift rod.

6. 1st-2nd shift rod.(7)
7. Rev-5th shift arm and reverse inhibitor.(6) Apply oil to the reverse inhibitor inner surface.
8. Rev-5th shift rod.(5)
9. Spring.(4)

10. Detent ball.(3) Apply oil to the detent balls.
11. Detent spring.(2)
12. Detent spring plate and gasket:(1)

a. Install a new gasket and the detent spring plate.

b. Tighten the detent spring plate bolts to the specified torque.

Torque 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
