SYMPTOM
*The customer may "feel" the release of the throttle plate through the accelerator pedal when first pressing the accelerator pedal after a cold start. Some
describe it as a "pop" sensation.*
PROBABLE CAUSE
Primarily in coastal regions, carbon and salt deposits accumulate on the Molykote(R) in the throttle bore.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Install a new throttle body and gasket.
NOTE:
Cleaning is not sufficient. Changes have been made to the throttle plate angle and stop settings of the new throttle body.
