Ignition Switch: Testing and Inspection
Test
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before performing repairs or service.
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the audio system and navigation system (if equipped), then write down the audio presets.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the driver's dashboard lower cover.
4. Disconnect the 6P connector from the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.
5. Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.
6. If the continuity checks do not agree with the table, replace the steering lock.
7. After reconnecting the battery, enter the anti-theft codes for the audio system and the navigation system (if equipped), then enter the audio presets,
and set the clock (on vehicles without navigation).
8. Reset the power window control unit.
