Squealing Noise From the Steering Column While Turning the Steering Wheel
SYMPTOM
The steering column squeals when turning the steering wheel. The noise may be intermittent and usually occurs during cold weather driving.
PROBABLE CAUSE
Interference between the switch body and the steering column.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the switch body.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Align the front wheels straight ahead. Make sure you have recorded the anti-theft codes for the audio system and the navigation system (if equipped).
Then disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
