1.
Refer to Figs. 15 and 16 when replacing brake pads.
2.
Raise and support front of vehicle, then remove wheel and tire assemblies.
3.
Remove brake hose clamp bolts from steering knuckle, Fig. 18.
4.
Remove caliper bolt, then swing caliper up out of the way.
5.
Remove shims, retainers and brake pads.
INSTALLATION
1.
Using a vernier caliper, measure thickness of each pad lining. Compare measurement with specifications. If brake lining thickness is less than
specified, replace both pads as a set.
2.
Clean caliper thoroughly, and check for grooves or cracks, repair or replace as necessary.
3.
Install pad retainers, then apply Molykote M77 compound or equivalent to both sides of pad shim and install brake pads and pad shims.
4.
Push piston in until caliper fits over pads. Keep piston boot in position to prevent damaging it when swinging caliper down.
