Tailgate Interior Trim Panel: Service and Repair
Tailgate Trim Panel Removal / Installation
1. Open the tailgate.
NOTE:
-
To open the tailgate in either swing mode or drop-down mode allows you to remove the tailgate trim panel.

The drop-down mode is shown; the swing mode is similar.
2. Remove the tailgate top trim (A).
1. Remove the screws (B).
2. Using a rubber mallet, slide the top trim to the right, and remove it. The upper clips (C) will stay in the tailgate.
3. Remove the upper clips from the tailgate.
3. Using a T40 Torx bit, remove the bolts, and then remove the tailgate trim panel (A).
4. Install the trim panel in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

Replace any damaged clips.

Before reinstalling the top trim, install the upper clips on the trim. Hold the trim up, and fit all the upper clips into the holes in the tailgate, then
push on the trim until the clips snap into place.
