Suspension Strut / Shock Absorber: Service and Repair

REMOVAL 

1. Remove the front wheel.

2. Detach the brake hose bracket from the strut assembly.

NOTE:  Do not pry or force the components.

3. Remove the strut upper mounting bolts(3).

4. Remove the strut assembly.
5. Installation is the reverse of removal.

DISASSEMBLY 

1. Remove the dust cover with a flat-tip screw driver.

2. Using the Special Tools (J38402, A-42), compress the coil spring until there is only a little tension on the strut.
