1. Check that the belts are not damaged and are properly fit into the pulley grooves.
CAUTION:
1) When installing the V-ribbed belt, check that the V-ribs are properly in alignment.
2) If noise or slippage is detected, check the belt for wear, damage, or breakage on the pulley contact surface, and check the pulley for scoring.
2. First set the belt tension by using the tension pulley.
Turn the crankshaft twice in clockwise.
NOTE: If the tension is measured before turning the crankshaft twice in clockwise, the measured value is incorrect because the tension is unequal
at point A, B and C as shown below.
