DESCRIPTION:
Some 1999 Accent vehicles may emit a high pitched ringing sound under partial throttle, light load conditions. The sound originates from the resonator
at the front of the exhaust pipe (see photo).
SERVICE INFORMATION:
An updated front exhaust pipe is available to resolve this condition. The updated part (P/N 28610-22701) is a direct replacement for the previous
assembly.
Vehicles produced on or after July 24, 1999 include the updated exhaust pipe.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
If a vehicle experiences the above described condition, replace the Front Exhaust Pipe Assembly with the new part number (28610-22701).
