DESCRIPTION:
Some 1998-99 MY Accent vehicles may experience an unusual exhaust noise from the engine compartment. These vehicles may exhibit a fatigue crack
on the exhaust manifold between the cylinder 1 and cylinder 2 exhaust ports. A revised exhaust manifold is available for vehicles found to have a crack.
This bulletin describes the steps necessary to inspect and/or replace the exhaust manifold.

^ Model: 1998-1999 Accent vehicles
PARTS INFORMATION:
These parts must be ordered only if replacing the Exhaust Manifold per the TSB.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE:
1.
Record the customer's preset radio stations, then disconnect the battery's negative (-) terminal.
2.
Spray rust penetrant (P/N 00232-12150 or equivalent) onto the 3 heat shield mounting bolts and let them soak.
