NOTE:
This TSB is applicable for Elantra SULEV vehicles only. Refer to TSB 02-40-019 or TSB 02-40-020 for other vehicles.
If you are servicing an automatic transaxle with a harsh and/or delayed shift, check:

ATF level according to TSB 03-40-019. Add SPIII ATF if necessary.

Diagnostic Trouble Codes in both the "Engine" and "Automatic Transaxle" menus. If DTC are found, repair according to the appropriate TSB or
shop manual. If no DTC are found, go to "Diagnostic Procedure".
DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE:
Attach the Hi-Scan Pro and select the following menus:
NOTE:
Ask an assistant to drive the vehicle as you monitor the Hi-Scan Pro.
"HYUNDAI VEHICLE DIAGNOSIS" "AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE" "FLIGHT RECORD", then select:

"VEHICLE SPEED", then F1 "FIX"
^
"SHIFT POSITION", then F1 "FIX" F6 "RCD", "ENTER"
Accelerate vehicle 1-2-3-4, then F6 "END" F1 "GRPH"
Confirm the PCM commanded each gear as shown:

If so, go to "HARSH OR DELAYED UPSHIFTS".

If not, check the wiring between the PCM and transaxle for a short or open circuit. If the wiring is OK, replace the PCM.
