Elantra L4-2.0L (2004)
Confirm the PCM adjusts the solenoid duty during the 3-4 upshift similar to the graphs:
NOTE:
The duty must change from 0% to 100% within 1-2 seconds. Both graphs show correct solenoid operation.
^
If so, go to "DIAGNOSIS".
^
If not, check the wiring between the PCM and transaxle for an open or short circuit. If the wiring is OK replace the PCM (Unified ECU and TCU).
DIAGNOSIS:
Toggle the left and right keys to measure the start and end of each shift, then subtract the two numbers. If any shift requires more than 2.0 seconds, swap
a PCM from a properly operating vehicle:
^
If the condition is improved, replace the PCM (unified ECU and TCU).
^
If the condition is not improved:
^
Check the oil temperature sensor according to TSB 00-40-010.
^
Compare the vehicle with another vehicle of the same year and model. If the shift quality condition is more noticeable than other vehicles, replace the
transaxle.
