Make sure that the securing tabs are clipped over each of the pad retaining pins as shown.

Install wheel and torque nuts to the -appropriate specification.

Wheel Nut Tightening Torque

Steel Wheel: 50-57 lb-ft (7-8 kg-m)

Aluminum Alloy Wheel: 65-72 lb-ft (9-10 kg-m)

CAUTION:

Use only a torque wrench! Do not use an impact wrench to tighten wheel nuts. This type of wrench often leads to overtorquing, which may damage
the wheel nuts and studs and/or the wheel.

Show that the brake repair has been completed by making a center punch mark over the last VIN digit on the engine compartment ID plate.

Procedures For Reducing Asbestos Dust During Brake Servicing

Because studies have indicated that exposure to excessive amounts of asbestos dust is a potential health hazard, OSHA has set maximum levels of
airborne asbestos dust to which workers may be exposed.

PRECAUTIONS MUST BE TAKEN DURING BRAKE SERVICING.

Since most automotive friction materials normally contain a sizeable amount of asbestos, it is important that people who handle brake linings and clutch
facings understand the nature of the problem and know the precautions to be taken.

In regulated areas where brake work is done and the air quality standard exceeds the OSHA limit, entrances should be posted with a warning sign
