Throttle Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

1.

With ignition switch Off, disconnect TPS connector.

2.

Using suitable ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals 2 and 3 as shown, Fig. 10.

3.

Resistance should be approximately 1.2k ohms with throttle closed and 4.9k ohms with throttle in wide open position.

4.

If resistance values are not as specified, replace TPS and adjust output voltage as outlined in the "Carburetor" section.
