Wheel Bearing: Adjustments

1.

Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel/tire assembly.

2.

Remove grease cap, cotter pin and adjusting nut retaining cap.

3.

Loosen adjusting nut, then torque nut to 14 ft. lbs.

4.

Back off adjustment, then retorque adjusting nut to 4 ft. lbs.

5.

Install adjusting nut retaining cap, cotter pin, and grease cap. If holes in retaining cap are out of alignment with hole in stub axle, loosen
adjusting nut approximately 15° until holes are aligned, then reinstall retaining cap and cotter pin.

6.

Reinstall wheel/tire assembly.
