SHIFT LOCK AND KEY LOCK CABLE ADJUSTMENT FOR VEHICLES WITH SPORT SHIFT
DESCRIPTION:
The procedure for adjusting the automatic transaxle shift lock cable and key lock cable has been modified for vehicles with Sport Shift. For vehicles
without Sport Shift, refer to TSB 01-40-008. If the key lock and shift lock do not operate as described in this bulletin, follow the appropriate adjustment
procedure.
PROCEDURE:
1.
Refer to the applicable shop manuals to remove the console upper cover.
NOTE:
It is not necessary to remove the floor console to perform this procedure if you have an offset ratchet screwdriver.

KEY LOCK CABLE ADJUSTMENT:

Place the shift lever in "Park" position.
3.
Turn the Ignition switch to the "ON" position.
4.
Press the brake pedal down with approximately 30 pounds force.
5.
Loosen the adjusting screw and move the key lock cable until the shift lever can be moved from the "Park" position. Tighten the adjusting screw.
6.
Release the brake pedal and confirm the shift lever cannot be moved from the "Park" position.
SHIFT LOCK CABLE ADJUSTMENT:

Move the shift lever to the "Park" position.
8.
Loosen the shift lock cable adjusting screw.
