INSERTION OF WASHER BETWEEN FRONT HUB AND DRIVESHAFT

DESCRIPTION:

This bulletin provides a procedure to insert a plastic washer between the front hub and the driveshaft (both sides) on some 2007 MY Santa Fe's (CM).

Symptom/Condition:

Abnormal noise/clicking heard from the front of the vehicle when shifting from "R" (reverse) to "D" (Drive) range with the brakes applied.

Cause:

^

Slip along the contact surface between the front hub and the driveshaft.

NOTE:

If there is abnormal noise not associated with this bulletin, please do not perform the service procedure of this bulletin. Re-inspect the origin of the
noise and take proper action.

SERVICE PROCEDURE:

1.

Lift the vehicle off the ground and remove the front wheels (Both sides).

2.

Remove the cotter pin (B) from the front hub (C) and then remove the driveshaft castle nut (A) and washer (D).
