Remove the tow hitch control module and wiring harness that is attached to the bumper structure by gently rotating back and forth until the
adhesive breaks away.

NOTE:

Removed modules/harnesses MUST be returned to the WTC. Parts return notices will be generated from the WTC for all replaced parts.

NOTE:

DO NOT Damage the module.

NOTE:

DO NOT CUT the attached wire harness or connectors.

Completely clean and remove all remaining adhesive tape from the top of the rear bumper reinforcement.

Secure the tow hitch control module above the ledge of the bumper by removing the adhesive backing and pressing firmly.

NOTE:

The new module can be identified by two (2) white dots as shown in the picture.

Connect the power lead to the harness. Strip approximately 0.3 in of the insulation from the end of the red wire cut in Step 7. Insert the stripped
wire into the butt connector located on the red power input wire on the trailer harness module. Making sure the wire end is properly seated, make a
crimp connection using a tool designed for insulated splices.

CAUTION:

An improper splice will lead to intermittent operation of the harness or potential electrical system damage.

Apply heat directly to the splice, working from the center out to the edges, using a hot air gun or other heat source, until the tubing shrinks and the
adhesive flows.

13.

Position the ring terminal on the tow hitch harness black wire over the heat shield nut that was previously removed in step 6.

14.

Using a fish wire, route the brown, yellow & blue/black wire from the control module up from under the body, behind the bumper and into the left
(driver's) tail light opening. Route the Green wire from the tow hitch harness module behind the bumper brackets, up through the body and into the
right (passenger) tail light opening.
